How Do You Make a Replacement When Nobody Has the Drawing? Start With the Part You've Got.

No template, no blueprint, no problem. Here is how we turn your original pickguard — even a cracked or incomplete one — into an accurate replacement.

One of the most common messages we get starts the same way: "I have this guitar, and nobody makes a pickguard for it."

Maybe it is a vintage model that was only made for a few years. Maybe it is an import with an oddball shape. Either way, there is no factory template to download — so most shops will tell you they cannot help.

We take a different approach: we start with the part you have.

Your original pickguard is the blueprint

Even a worn, cracked, or discolored original guard contains everything we need: the outline, the screw hole positions, the pickup routes, the control locations. Our job is to capture that information accurately.

Here is how the process works:

  • You send us the original (or clear photos with measurements, if you would rather not ship it).
  • We trace the outline into a precise digital cutting file — the same process we built our own software for.
  • We verify the dimensions against your guitar before anything is cut.
  • We cut and finish your new guard in the material and style you choose.

What if the original is damaged?

A broken guard is usually still usable. Cracks and missing corners can be reconstructed, because most pickguards are symmetrical or follow the body's lines. If a section is truly gone, we will work with you — photos of the guitar and a few measurements usually fill in the gaps.

Then make it your own

A replacement does not have to look like the old one. Once we have your outline, you can choose any of our finishes — tortoise, pearloid, wood grains, leather patterns — or upload your own artwork and photos for a fully custom printed guard. Same perfect fit, completely new look.

Got a guitar nobody has a drawing for?

That is our favorite kind of job. Start a custom build, tell us what you are working with, and we will take it from there.
